Arizona Beef Ambassador Program
The purpose of the program is to provide Arizona consumers and students with positive nutritional, economic and environmental stewardship information related to beef consumption and the beef community. Participants learn how to effectively address issues and misconceptions, accurately share industry practices and promote the versatile uses of beef.
CattleWoman of the Year
At the annual meeting of the Arizona State Cowbelles, Trudy Birkemeyer of Dugas, Arizona was honored 2018 CattleWoman of the Year. Trudy was born into the cattle business on the Big Bug Ranch, east of Cordes Junction, Arizona. Her family moved to the ranch which was homesteaded by her great grandfather, Lonis Dugas, in 1876. She continues to run that same ranch with her brother Bert Teskey, DVM.
Summer Agricultural Institute
The SAI is a 5-day tour to engage teachers with the many facets of Arizona agriculture. The program provides teachers with first-hand experience and knowledge to incorporate into their classroom curriculum.
